Review Christy Renaissance Cotton Tub Mat, Driftwood / Christy 097:Christy towels have been drying the discerning bather for more than 150 years. After bringing a Turkish towel back to England from an 1840s visit to the Sultan's Palace in Constantinople, founder Henry Christy and his brother invented the means to reproduce the previously unknown (in England) loop pile technique. Queen Victoria was an immediate fan. Made of 100 percent Egyptian cotton, this heavy-weight tub mat from Christy's Renaissance collection brings high-end luxury and comfort to any bathroom. Its fine fibers and deep pile are soft to the touch, while the long loop captures water away from the skin, making the mat extra absorbent. Manufactured in England, it measures 22 by 35 inches and should be machine washed. -Ann Bieri.
